Signs & Symptoms of Stress
Recognise early • Act faster- Trouble remembering or focus

- Racing or anxious thoughts
- Constant overthinking
- Mood swings / irritability
- Feeling overwhelmed or helpless
- Headaches, muscle tension
- Digestive issues or dizziness
Stress often arises when life feels demanding or unpredictable. Common factors include:
- Overloaded schedule or multitasking
- Financial or relationship worries
- Poor diet, irregular sleep
- Excessive screen time and lack of downtime
- Emotional exhaustion from caregiving
Practical steps:
- Relaxing activities: music, painting, reading, gardening
- Yoga & meditation for mindfulness
- Regular exercise to release endorphins
- Journaling to process triggers
- Organise routines & eat mindfully
- Talk to loved ones or a counselor
Common signs: persistent fear, restlessness, sleep problems, physical symptoms (shortness of breath, dizziness), avoidant thoughts.
Ways to cope: speak with someone, adopt healthy habits, routines, join support groups, and seek therapy when needed.
Symptoms: persistent sadness, loss of interest, guilt, sleep & appetite changes, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and in some cases suicidal thoughts.
Support: therapy, gentle activity, realistic goals, stay connected, learn and be patient — healing is gradual but possible.
